NBC Olympics
with Pole Vaulter Jenn Suhr
July 2012 -The BTV crew worked
with NBC Universal in Rochester on a story for their
Olympic coverage in 2012. Jenn Suhr, who lives in
the Rochester area, and is a top ranked pole vaulter for
the US team, brings her own poles to her competitions
even though they are a bit unwieldy. DP Dave Bartlett,
Audio Tech Randy Sparrazza and Producer Katie Sullivan
interviewed Jenn and her husband / trainer Rick about
the difficulty of traveling with the poles. Then
the crew followed them as they loaded poles onto their
vehicle and checked them into the airport, following the
poles right into the aircraft. Jenn and Rick traveled on
United airlines, the official airline sponsor of the
Olympics.
